How/where do you apply?
For SLHS: The San Leandro Scholarship Foundation application becomes available on-line in December and is open to SLHS seniors. Seniors can check their emails or Parent Square for the link.
The deadline for scholarship applications is March 31st, though there are some early scholarships in January and February, so seniors should apply early! Any application received after March 31st will not be considered. All awards are announced at the Senior Scholarship Night, which will be held on May 29, 2026.
For Arroyo and Lincoln High Schools: Ask at the Counseling Office.
What are the criteria for the Scholarships?
Scholarships are based on a number of criteria including GPA, need, interest in specific careers, volunteering, involvement in music, drama or sports, the institution that you plan to attend, and neighborhood association where you live to name a few. It is important to completely fill out the application. Otherwise, you may be overlooked for a scholarship for which you are qualified.
Where do I get notified if I Receive a scholarship?
Seniors are notified in mid-May if they are receiving a scholarship. All awards are announced at the Senior Scholarship Night, which will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026. Many parents and community members attend this very happy event where the seniors are awarded over $170,000 in scholarships from the San Leandro Scholarship Foundation. At this event, there are not only SLSF scholarships, but also many direct scholarships from a wide variety of educational institutions and community groups.
